Media - October 2012

Hello livejournal! As of three days ago I am unemployed. Combined with the fact of it being reading week I have discovered it is extremely unhealthy for me to have too much free time. A break is nice but more than one day of being twitchy, spending too much time reading fic, and eating chocolate is just not good for anyone. :l Thank God I have tkd tomorrow.

Media - August 2012

Remember how last month I was all excited that I finished school and I'd have free time again? The universe has a mean sense of humour; about half the staff at my work proceeded to quit and the rest of us enjoyed the highly entertaining experience of trying to run a place that requires twenty staff with eight. On the bright side it's made me really happy to be heading back to school. :)

Media - July 2012

Guess who wrote her final exam today? This girl! :D With summer school over my days off work each week will now actually be days off so I am going to attempt to keep up with livejournal and dreamwidth again. I'm not going to try to backread because I don't believe in impossible tasks but from this day forth, I, themadpoker, sometimes referred to as Zeineb pledge to at least attempt to be a good lj friend. We will see how it works out!

Media - June 2012

Holy smokes, that's the year half over. I feel like I ought to have a speech or something. You're all going to be spared though as I have approximately fifteen minutes before I go to work and I'd rather spend them on breakfast. Here's a nice short version: I, Zeineb, elsewhere known as themadpoker have read a whole lot of enjoyable books this first half year, have become the teensiest bit in better shape, and have not done as awfully at school as I might have. Let us all hope this continues. Except for the grades thing, I would very much like for those to go up. Amen.

Media - May 2012

How is May over already, I feel like I posted one of these yesterday. X_x This year is racing to finish. I haven't had a chance to do half the things I intended to have done by now. Goal for June: write my G1 before the month ends. If nothing else I'd have so many more free hours if I didn't use them busing everywhere.

Media - April 2012

Another month, another media post! This is pretty book heavy; I didn't have much time to watch things this month.

Media - March 2012

Hurrah, another media post! I've officially given up the idea that I will ever post anything else here so I'll just use this for a life update too. Schoolwise I fell down a terrible academic blackhole at the start of this month I am currently trying to claw my way back out of. So far I'm nearly caught up on my readings for every course but one. If I finish those and write five very good essays and three exams within the next three weeks I think I can probably pull a B average for the year. Which will lose me my scholarship and be the worst GPA I've had in years but. -shrugs- This is why you don't take 120% courseload when you are a terrible procrastinator who reacts with dread when assigned essay topics they can't think how to respond to. I have learned some excellent life lessons about my personal academic capabilities this semester.

On the bright side I passed my tae kwon do test yesterday to move on to yellow stripe so I haven't failed all my life goals! Plus if our president succeeds in getting us gym space on Mondays and Wednesdays over the summer I'll be able to keep coming to training. Next goal: become a yellow belt by September? :D Also, attempt not to be eliminated in the first round of patterns in the Ottawa tournament in June. If I make it to the second round I'll already be improving on my performance in Toronto this month! I'm going to focus on patterns and kicks over the summer (my turning kick is a sad sight to behold, my instructor even included a comment to improve my balance in my test results).

Other good news includes having a job and all my third year English courses lined up for the summer. If everything goes well there I'll only have to do four courses each semester next year which should help me enormously on not repeating the academic tragedies of this semester.

Aaaand that's p. much everything of consequence to happen to me over March. Let's move on to the fun entertainment stuff!

Media - February 2012

So when I said last month these media posts would at least guarantee me one post a month I was kind of secretly hoping I'd develop time management skills and manage to post other things anyways. That didn't really happen. >_> Low expectations are the way to go here I see.
